When you install a high clearance rear bumper, the factory license plate location usually goes with it. The bumper gets tighter to the body, cleaner underneath, and the tag no longer has a place to live.
This bracket moves the plate where it makes sense.
Mounted to the lower driver side corner of the tailgate and bolting underneath the tailgate opening, it relocates the tag out of the bumper area while keeping it secure and visible. The rear of the truck stays clean, and you avoid hanging the plate off recovery points or drilling random holes just to get legal again.
High clearance rear bumpers, including our Tomahawk, eliminate the factory mounting surface. This bracket provides a solid solution that looks intentional, not improvised.
It is designed specifically to work with the MB1262 Tomahawk Rear Bumper for the Jeep JT, but it can also be used with other aftermarket bumpers or custom applications where a new mounting location is needed.
Once installed, the plate sits tight against the tailgate corner and stays out of the way of departure angle and trail obstacles. It’s supported by steel structure and aluminum components that resist vibration and trail abuse without adding unnecessary bulk.

Notes:
- Main frame structure is bare steel and will need to be painted.
- We recommend using LD-PL6 for the tag light.
The bracket mounts to the lower driver side corner of the tailgate and secures underneath the tailgate opening. It is a straightforward bolt-on installation with basic hand tools. No complicated fabrication required.
